Thank you to all those who came out this weekend to hear Basil chat about the ins and outs of the olive oil business. And more importantly, thank you for your donations which we will be handing to needy farmers in the Peloponnese this coming November, when Basil will be harvesting the olives.
That being said, Basil Olive Oil Products will be joining forces with local farmers on Vancouver Island, such as wine extraordinaires Godfrey-Brownell Vineyards in Duncan, to help the Greek farmers whose crops were damaged in the fires. We are hoping to raise enough funds to plant 1000 trees. If you would like to participate in the cause, we'd love to hear from you!
In similar news, the son of the proprietor of Godfrey-Brownell has started up an organisation to protect the interest of farmers on a global level: Farmers without Borders. We look forward to working alongside this cooperative and many others in the Cowichan Valley.
